stem racing

STEM RACING is one of the biggest global STEM competitions hosted by Formula 1, where student teams design, build, and race miniature F1 cars across a 20-meter track. The goal is simple, to develop the fastest car and build the best brand around it.

(Formally known as F1 in Schools)

Why STEM RACING?

To inspire students (9-19 years old) in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and provide hands-on experience in design, aerodynamics, and project management.

How it works?

Teams digitally design their race cars through CAD (computer-aided design) software, test their aerodynamic efficiency through CFD (Computational fluid dynamics) and manufacture them using advanced technologies like 3D printing or CNC to compete in thrilling races.

Who Participates?

The competition was first introduced in the UK in 1999 and today thousands of students from over 51 countries compete from regionals, nationals to global level. National Champions from every country are invited to compete at the World Finals where they will go head to head to become the F1 in Schools World Champions and lift the F1 in Schools World Champions trophy
